  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt and oil; add flour gradually until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for one hour.
  4. Punch down the dough and divide into 16 pieces; roll each piece into a 12-inch rope and shape into bones.
  5. Place on a greased baking sheet; cover and let rise for another 45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F and bake the breadsticks for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
