  • 6 ounces mozzarella pearls
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Fill a silicone skull mold with mozzarella pearls and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted. Cool before removing from the mold.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F. Halve cherry tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Slice the baguette into ½-inch pieces, toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  5. Mix black food coloring into basil pesto until desired darkness is reached.
  6. Spread pesto on toasted baguette slices, return to the oven for another 8-10 minutes.
  7. Top each bruschetta with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls. Garnish with balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
